This years Tour de France has a couple of local connections. First we have Romain Bardet who cycles for AG2R. He is from the nearby village of Javaugues. The local florist must be a relative or a huge fan as the shop window demonstrates.
He came 6th overall and would seem to have a great future.
The second local connection was the TdFs visit to Yorkshire for Le Grand Depart Yorkshire. It passed close to our old home near Leeds on the first day and went through parts of the Dales. We followed it all on TV and the views and crowds were spectacular.
